Part 107 exam day
Bring a government photo ID with your current address, arrive 30 minutes early, and expect a locked, quiet room with a supplement booklet and no phone. 60 questions, 2 hours, result printed before you leave.
Bring
- Government issued photo ID. The name must match your IACRA and booking records exactly.
- Proof of current address if your ID does not show it, such as a utility bill, as PSI lists in its candidate rules.
- Your booking confirmation.
- Nothing else goes in. Phones, watches, notes, and your own charts stay in a locker the center provides.
How the 2 hours feel
Sixty questions at two minutes each is the full clock, but most candidates finish in 60 to 90 minutes. Chart and METAR items eat the time. Flag them, clear the fast rule questions first, then come back with a calm head and the supplement booklet open.
Rules of the room
- No talking, no reference material beyond the provided supplement and the on screen tools.
- Scratch paper or a whiteboard is provided by the center and collected after.
- A passing score is 70 percent. Your report prints at the front desk with an embossed seal.
After you pass
- Finish the application in IACRA using the 17 digit test ID from your report.
- Wait for the TSA vetting to clear, watch IACRA for the temporary certificate.
- Register each drone you will fly under Part 107 in FAA DroneZone and mark the number on the outside.
FAQ
Can I retake the test if I fail?
Yes, after 14 calendar days, with a new booking and a new $175 fee. Your score report codes show which knowledge areas to restudy.
What ID do non US citizens bring?
PSI and the FAA list specific document combinations for non citizens, including a passport and a second proof of address. Check the current list when you book, not the night before.
